The GovTech Costa Rica Forum is a networking event that brings together key stakeholders from the public sector, business, academia, and multilateral organizations to boost the technology and government ecosystem in Latin America.
The event seeks to strengthen ties between the public and private sectors in order to promote the intelligent use of new technologies in improving public services and democratic practices. The GovTech Costa Rica Forum is a new way to strengthen the regional ecosystem of digital government and civic technology.
Lucas Jolías, CEO of OSCity, comments: “This meeting was born out of our conviction that we are at an opportune moment to promote activities that allow us to share ideas related to the digital transformation of the State, transparency and open government, and the GovTech ecosystem in general.”
At the conclusion of the GovTech Costa Rica Forum, The Trust for the Americas, OSCity, and Innovaap announced the launch of the GovTech CR Fund. This initiative seeks to support the Government of Costa Rica in its Digital Transformation process by involving academia, the public and private sectors, and multilateral organizations.
Rodrigo Iriani, Manager of the DIA Program at The Trust for the Americas, comments on expectations regarding access in light of the announcement of the Costa Rica GovTech Fund: “The fund will be available to all national and subnational government entities that wish to participate. It is a first step toward promoting investment in technology to improve services for citizens, with the goal of continuing to build partnerships in this area.”.
