(January 16,&nbsp;2020)<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetrustfortheamericas.org\/\">The Trust for the Americas<\/a>&nbsp;in partnership with the Collaborative Public Innovation Laboratory InnovaAP&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/innovaap.ga\/\">Laboratorio Colaborativo de&nbsp;Innovaci\u00f3n P\u00fablica&nbsp;InnovaAP<\/a>&nbsp;and the University Agency for Entrepreneurship Management of the University of Costa Rica launch the project Gente Emprende.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/innovaap.ga\/gente-emprende\/\">Proyecto Gente Emprende.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gente Emprende\u2019s objective is to promote high social value impact projects, that have the capacity of becoming sustainable entrepreneurships. Its structure is composed of 1 introduction session, 5 public innovation workshops using the \u201csprint\u201d methodology, and 2 follow-up sessions for five municipalities outside of Costa Rica\u2019s Great Metropolitan Area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AUGE will guide the development of the entrepreneurs. AUGE focuses in understanding the issue being resolved and the solution created. The selected projects within each municipality will receive a maximum of $US5,000 for financial support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jorge Uma\u00f1a, local coordinator of The Trust for the Americas in Costa Rica \u201cWe seek to improve citizen participation in five municipalities of Costa Rica, through a strategy of developing co-creation processes with social actors and proposing solutions to local needs that result in viable, sustainable and high value projects for the population of these locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the month of January, informational workshops will be held for NGO\u2019s, philanthropies, media outlets, PYMES, cooperatives, and interested community groups within the selected municipalities, with the following itinerary:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Monday January 20- Turrialba 9 am\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tuesday Jan 21- Grecia 9 am\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Wednesday January 22- Orotina 9pm\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Thursday January 23- Ca\u00f1as 9am<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tuesday January 28- Quepos 9 am<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Applications will begin February 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We expect participation of more than 750 people throughout the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information follow or social media or contact our local coordinator, Jorge Uma\u00f1a at jumana@20.9.190.97.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About The Trust for the Americas:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Trust for the Americas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization affiliated with the Organization of American States (OAS).
