Agua Prieta, Sonora, 21 de septiembre de 2020 \u2013 El H. Ayuntamiento de Agua Prieta, a trav\u00e9s del Instituto de las Mujeres, se suma a The Trust for the Americas para capacitar a m\u00e1s de 50 mujeres sonorenses en el  Proyecto VIVE (ven, insp\u00edrate y vende) para fortalecer sus oportunidades econ\u00f3micas ante la pandemia por COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La firma de la colaboraci\u00f3n se dio por parte del Presidente Municipal de Agua Prieta quien dijo que “el desarrollo de las mujeres es clave para el crecimiento de la sociedad, en todos sentidos; es muy importante apoyar a nuestras mujeres para fortalecer la econom\u00eda y contribuir a la disminuci\u00f3n de la violencia de hacia las mujeres” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al respecto, Mar\u00eda Fernanda Sierra Perea, Gerente Senior de Programas \u2013 POETA, expres\u00f3 que “en The Trust for the Americas estamos firmemente convencidas de que promoviendo oportunidades para que las mujeres sean independientes, emocional y econ\u00f3micamente, construimos paz. Hoy estamos felices de sumar con el gobierno municipal de Agua Prieta para capacitar a mujeres sonorenses. Esta alianza les brindar\u00e1 herramientas para que impulsen su desarrollo personal y laboral, de esta forma beneficiamos a las mujeres, a sus familias y comunidades”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The VIVE Project has been implemented in Mexico by The Trust for the Americas since 2016, thanks to support from the Walmart Foundation. The project aims to provide tools that foster women\u2019s economic development and offer them alternatives to improve their economic situation and that of their families. Between 2016 and 2019, it trained more than 53,000 people nationwide. Of the total number of people trained, more than 43,000 are women (40% of whom are heads of household). In addition, nearly 7,000 people were connected to economic opportunities (86% women; 60% were placed in full-time jobs, and 21% became self-employed or launched entrepreneurial projects).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

September 21, 2020, Agua Prieta, Sonora \u2013 The City Council of Agua Prieta, through the Women\u2019s Institute, is joining forces with The Trust for the Americas to train more than 50 women from Sonora through the VIVE Project (Come, Be Inspired, and Sell) to strengthen their economic opportunities in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
