As part of these collaborative efforts, the Itag\u00fci Women\u2019s ICT Room was inaugurated on October 27 at the Casa de la Mujer. \u201cThis is a space for opportunities, empowerment, and learning for the women of Itag\u00fci,\u201d said the new local partner of the POETA Social Franchise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This alliance will make it possible to train women in new information and communication technologies, entrepreneurship, administration, accounting, marketing, and the prevention and response to violence, so that they can access better economic opportunities, whether through entrepreneurship or the search for formal employment.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thanks to the support of Lenovo Colombia and Microsoft Philanthropy, The Trust for the Americas donated 15 computer systems and software licenses, which made it possible to equip the new facility, where 100 women from the municipality will be served each year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Municipality, \u201cthis space will be a place of empowerment and appropriation for women, where they can gather, share, and identify their needs and expectations, and take part in their training and personal development processes.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The inauguration was led by Jos\u00e9 Fernando Escobar Estrada, Mayor of the Municipality of Itag\u00fc\u00ed, Deisy Herrera Sanmart\u00edn, First Lady of the Municipality, and Leidy Yohana Casta\u00f1o Vanegas, head of the Municipality's Family Secretariat.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.trustfortheamericas.org\/programs\/POETA\">https:\/\/www.trustfortheamericas.org\/programs\/POETA<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Facebook: The Trust for the Americas\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Twitter: @Trust4Americas&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">About The Trust for the Americas:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Trust for the Americas is a nonprofit organization affiliated with the Organization of American States (OAS).
