More 66.1%<\/strong> de las mujeres mexicanas de 15 a\u00f1os y m\u00e1s han vivido violencia (INEGI, 2016).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* 16.4 <\/strong>millones de mujeres en M\u00e9xico no tienen ingresos propios o sus ingresos vienen de otras fuentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Durante el a\u00f1o de 2018 el Proyecto VIVE capacit\u00f3 a m\u00e1s de 15 mil<\/strong> mujeres, m\u00e1s de 6.700 <\/strong>se graduaron de la \u201cruta de prevenci\u00f3n de violencia hacia ni\u00f1as y mujeres.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington DC, 07 de marzo de 2019<\/strong>.- En el marco del D\u00eda Internacional de la Mujer, The Trust for the Americas, instituci\u00f3n sin fines de lucro afiliada a la Organizaci\u00f3n de Estados Americanos (OEA),  con base en Washington DC, lanza a trav\u00e9s de su programa VIVE en M\u00e9xico, el \u201cManual de Prevenci\u00f3n de la Violencia hacia las Ni\u00f1as y las Mujeres.\u201d El manual es una gu\u00eda para apoyar el empoderamiento de las mujeres y est\u00e1 disponible en la web del Trust for the Americas  en la direcci\u00f3n www.thetrustfortheamericas.org<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sobre el lanzamiento del manual, Klaudia Gonz\u00e1lez coordinadora del programa VIVE coment\u00f3: \u201cThe Trust for the Americas, con apoyo de Walmart Foundation, lanz\u00f3 en 2016 el Proyecto \u00b4VIVE: ven, insp\u00edrate y vende\u00b4, con el objetivo de ofrecer herramientas que permitan el desarrollo econ\u00f3mico de las mujeres y darles alternativas que mejoren su condici\u00f3n social y la de su familia. Desde que empezamos con el programa, hemos identificado tambi\u00e9n ciertos factores que no permiten que la mujer supere los c\u00edrculos de la violencia, por ejemplo la dependencia econ\u00f3mica. Con el objetivo de ayudar a las mujeres a identificar esos factores y c\u00f3mo superarlos, lanzamos hoy el Manual de Prevenci\u00f3n de la Violencia.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De acuerdo con la evaluaci\u00f3n independiente (GENERA 2018), las graduadas de VIVE cuentan con mayores perspectivas de empleabilidad que sus contrapartes en el grupo de control, ya que una gran parte de ellas han emprendido un negocio, accedido a un empleo formal u obtuvieron un ascenso luego de la capacitaci\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s, las graduadas VIVE tienen mayor predisposici\u00f3n a emprender. M\u00e1s del 50% de las graduadas del grupo inici\u00f3 emprendimientos despu\u00e9s de la capacitaci\u00f3n. M\u00e1s del 75% de las graduadas adem\u00e1s perciben un aumento en su capacidad de tomar decisiones de forma independiente, con un aumento de entre 20% y 60% puntos porcentuales entre el grupo de tratamiento y el de control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Klaudia Gonz\u00e1les agreg\u00f3 que \u201cen dos a\u00f1os se ha logrado la capacitaci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de 51 mil personas, de ellas m\u00e1s de 38 mil son mujeres y cerca de 7 mil personas fueron vinculadas a oportunidades econ\u00f3micas (86% de ellas son mujeres). El 35% de esas oportunidades fueron en el sector de ventas, 60% de las personas beneficiarias fueron consiguieron un trabajo de tiempo completo y 21% se auto-emplearon o iniciaron sus propios emprendimient. El perfil de las mujeres que acceden a nuestros programas es variado y representa un enorme compromiso para nosotros ya que el 40% de las mujeres son jefas de familia\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El lanzamiento del \u201cManual de Prevenci\u00f3n de la Violencia de las Ni\u00f1as y Mujeres\u201d busca ser una herramienta que colabore en el desarrollo de las mujeres promoviendo el bienestar social y familiar y brindando la posibilidad de seguir trabajando por m\u00e1s derechos para m\u00e1s gente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 66.1% of Mexican women aged 15 and older have experienced violence (INEGI, 2016). * 16.4 million women in Mexico have no income of their own or derive their income from other sources. * In 2018, the VIVE Project trained more than 15,000 women, and more than 6,700 graduated from the \u201cviolence prevention program for girls and women.\u201d Washington, D.C., March 7, 2019.- In observance of International Women\u2019s Day, The Trust for the Americas, a nonprofit organization affiliated with the Organization of American States (OAS) and based in Washington, D.C., is launching, through its VIVE program in Mexico, the \u201cManual on the Prevention of Violence Against Girls and Women.\u201d The manual is a guide designed to support women\u2019s empowerment and is available on the Trust for the Americas website at www.thetrustfortheamericas.org. Regarding the manual\u2019s launch, Klaudia Gonz\u00e1lez, coordinator of the VIVE program, commented: \u201cTrust for the Americas, with support from the Walmart Foundation, launched the \u201dVIVE: Come, Be Inspired, and Sell\u201c project in 2016, with the goal of providing tools to foster women\u2019s economic development and offer them alternatives to improve their social status and that of their families. Since we began the program, we have also identified certain factors that prevent women from breaking free from cycles of violence, such as economic dependence. With the goal of helping women identify these factors and learn how to overcome them, we are launching the Violence Prevention Manual today.\u201d According to the independent evaluation (GENERA 2018), VIVE graduates have better employment prospects than their counterparts in the control group, as a large proportion of them have started a business, secured formal employment, or received a promotion following the training. In addition, VIVE graduates are more inclined to start their own businesses. More than 50% of the graduates in the group launched businesses after the training. More than 75% of the graduates also reported an increase in their ability to make decisions independently, with a difference of between 20% and 60% percentage points between the treatment group and the control group. Klaudia Gonz\u00e1les added that \u201cin two years, more than 51,000 people have been trained, of whom more than 38,000 are women, and nearly 7,000 people were connected to economic opportunities (86% of whom are women). Of these opportunities, 35% were in the sales sector; 60% of the beneficiaries secured full-time jobs; and 21% became self-employed or started their own businesses. The profile of the women who participate in our programs is diverse and represents a significant commitment for us, as 40% of the women are heads of households.\u201d The launch of the \u201cManual on the Prevention of Violence Against Girls and Women\u201d aims to serve as a tool to support women\u2019s development by promoting social and family well-being and providing the opportunity to continue working toward greater rights for more people.
