Likewise, the application period for the next cycle of the project began, starting on October 29, 2020, with the selection of 20 entrepreneurs to receive financial incentives and training. The winners will be chosen by a five-member committee that will evaluate criteria such as social impact, number of beneficiaries, demonstrated commitment by the participants, improvements in employment opportunities, and business innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAt AES Puerto Rico, in addition to being committed to Puerto Rico's energy transition, we also prioritize the socioeconomic development of our communities through social projects that incorporate sustainability as a way to generate employment conditions and contribute to human development in the communities where we operate, commented Jesus Bolinaga, president of AES Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The purpose of the Empowering Innovative Entrepreneurship CONECTA 2020\/2021 project is to strengthen new business ideas or existing micro-enterprises with a comprehensive training process in innovation methodologies, business model development, digital transformation, business skills, and mentoring in business acceleration and seed capital for the best selected enterprises.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For her part, Linda Eddleman, executive director of The Trust For the Americas, stated that \u201cour mission as The Trust For the Americas is to provide the knowledge and tools necessary for communities to create economic opportunities, become sustainable, and improve their quality of life, that of their families, and to drive growth in their communities.
