Tierra Blanca, Veracruz, November 11, 2020 \u2013 The City Council of Tierra Blanca, in the state of Veracruz, is joining forces with The Trust for the Americas to train women in the municipality through the VIVE Project (Come, Be Inspired, and Sell) to strengthen their economic opportunities in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The signing of the collaboration was carried out by Rafael Montiel Mart\u00ednez, Esq., Sixth Councilman of the City Council of Tierra Blanca, who stated that \u201cThe City Council of Tierra Blanca thanks Proyecto VIVE for this joining of efforts through the Economic Development Commission, since through its virtual training sessions, women from Tierra Blanca will be trained in entrepreneurship topics to face the challenges of the pandemic.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this regard, Mar\u00eda Fernanda Sierra Perea, Senior Program Manager at POETA, stated, \u201cAt The Trust for the Americas, we know it\u2019s essential to provide opportunities for women to become emotionally and financially independent, and what better way to do that than by joining forces with local governments. Today we are pleased to partner with the Tierra Blanca City Council to provide training to women in the region. This partnership will give them the tools to advance their personal and professional development, thereby benefiting women, their families, and their communities.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The VIVE Project has been implemented in Mexico by The Trust for the Americas since 2016, thanks to support from the Walmart Foundation. The project aims to provide tools that foster women\u2019s economic development and offer them alternatives to improve their economic situation and that of their families. Between 2016 and 2019, it trained more than 53,000 people nationwide. Of the total number of people trained, more than 43,000 are women (40% of whom are heads of household). In addition, nearly 7,000 people were connected to economic opportunities (86% women; 60% were placed in full-time jobs, and 21% became self-employed or launched entrepreneurial projects).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ayuntamiento de Tierra Blanca en el estado de Veracruz, se suma a The Trust for the Americas para capacitar a mujeres del Municipio a trav\u00e9s del  Proyecto VIVE (ven, insp\u00edrate y vende) para fortalecer sus oportunidades econ\u00f3micas ante la pandemia por COVID-19. Hoy estamos felices de sumar con el H. Ayuntamiento de Tierra Blanca para capacitar a mujeres de la regi\u00f3n. Esta alianza les brindar\u00e1 herramientas para que impulsen su desarrollo personal y laboral, de esta forma beneficiamos a las mujeres, a sus familias y comunidades”. Esta capacitaci\u00f3n se realizar\u00e1 de forma virtual acatando las medidas de distanciamiento social recomendadas por la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud y tendr\u00e1 duraci\u00f3n de dos meses. El Proyecto VIVE es implementado en M\u00e9xico por The Trust for the Americas desde el 2016 gracias al apoyo  de Walmart Foundation.
