The project, titled \u201dPublic Innovation through Open Data in Panama,\u201c was developed to encourage Panama\u2019s government and civil society to collaboratively create spaces for discussion, collaboration, public policy deliberation, and projects through the use of open data. The project was funded by the U.S. Embassy in Panama and was implemented in three phases: technical training for public servants, civil society, academia, the media, and the private sector; the creation of spaces for dialogue and the exchange of ideas to foster the inclusion of all sectors in the search for solutions; and, finally, the funding of innovative social initiatives that promote the use of data to address community issues. Additionally, this project forged successful partnerships with various sectors of society, including the private sector, government, academia, and civil society.
