Santo Domingo <\/strong>\u2013 <\/strong>29 <\/strong>of <\/strong>septiembre<\/strong> de 202<\/strong>3<\/strong>.<\/strong> En un evento presencial, Citi Foundation<\/strong>, The Trust for the Americas<\/strong> and ADASEC Dominicana<\/strong> <\/strong>celebraron el lanzamiento oficial del cuarto <\/strong>Laboratorio de Innovaci\u00f3n DIA<\/strong> <\/strong>en Rep\u00fablica Dominicana<\/strong> (DIA Lab RD)<\/strong>, un espacio de colaboraci\u00f3n que brindar\u00e1 a m\u00e1s j\u00f3venes de la comunidad de Bonao el acceso a tecnolog\u00eda y capacitaci\u00f3n en habilidades digitales, de negocios y laborales, para contribuir a la empleabilidad y a la generaci\u00f3n de oportunidades de sustento. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Este laboratorio es una iniciativa dise\u00f1ada por la organizaci\u00f3n The Trust for the Americas de la Organizaci\u00f3n de Estados Americanos (OEA), a trav\u00e9s del Programa Democratizando la Innovaci\u00f3n en las Am\u00e9ricas (DIA)<\/strong>, e implementada gracias al apoyo econ\u00f3mico de Citi Foundation. El nuevo laboratorio en Bonao es el sexto que nace de esta alianza, luego de una exitosa implementaci\u00f3n en Jamaica (2016), Trinidad Tobago (2021) y en las comunidades de Ban\u00ed, Bonao y La Vega en Rep\u00fablica Dominicana (2022). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

En el evento, Rodrigo Iriani, Gerente Senior del Programa DIA, se dirigi\u00f3 a los j\u00f3venes de la comunidad: \u201cQuiero agradecerles a ustedes por acompa\u00f1arnos el d\u00eda de hoy e invitarlos a ser parte de esta iniciativa. Este proyecto es de ustedes, h\u00e1ganse due\u00f1os del mismo y aprovechen las oportunidades.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Estuvieron presentes l\u00edderes de la comunidad, representantes de la asociaci\u00f3n de vecinos de Bonao, j\u00f3venes y  el equipo de The Trust for the Americas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asimismo, Allen Feliz, coordinador de los DIA Labs RD para ADASEC RD, complement\u00f3: \u201cEstamos trayendo algo bonito y crucial a nuestra comunidad. Este cuarto laboratorio sigue creando oportunidades reales para la juventud de Bonao y toda la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana. Este espacio est\u00e1 disponible para ustedes, con 18 computadoras, acceso a internet y disponible siempre para sus necesidades educativas y profesionales.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Desde el 2016, el Programa DIA de The Trust for the Americas, ha impactado la vida de 11,133<\/strong> j\u00f3venes y representantes de diversos sectores de la Sociedad de nueve pa\u00edses, de los cuales, 1,431<\/strong> han emprendido proyectos de innovaci\u00f3n que benefician a sus comunidades. Los DIA Labs son espacios que brindan acceso a la tecnolog\u00eda y recursos para contribuir a la empleabilidad y el emprendimiento a trav\u00e9s de la alfabetizaci\u00f3n digital, y la capacitaci\u00f3n en habilidades laborales y para la vida. Con el lanzamiento de este nuevo laboratorio, buscan seguir escalando los resultado positivos y potenciando el emprendedurismo en la juventud dominicana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Santo Domingo \u2013 September 29, 2023.\u00a0At an in-person event, the Citi Foundation, The Trust for the Americas, and ADASEC Dominicana celebrated the official launch of the fourth DIA Innovation Lab in the Dominican Republic\u00a0(DIA Lab RD), a collaborative space that will provide more young people in the Bonao community with access to technology and training in digital, business, and job skills to help boost their employability and create livelihood opportunities.\u00a0 This lab is an initiative designed by the Organization of American States\u201c (OAS) The Trust for the Americas, through the Democratizing Innovation in the Americas (DIA) Program, and implemented with financial support from the Citi Foundation. The new lab in Bonao is the sixth to emerge from this partnership, following successful implementations in Jamaica (2016), Trinidad and Tobago (2021), and the communities of Ban\u00ed, Bonao, and La Vega in the Dominican Republic (2022).\u00a0 At the event, Rodrigo Iriani, Senior Manager of the DIA Program, addressed the young people in the community: \u201dI want to thank you for joining us today and invite you to be part of this initiative.
