The Skills for Sustainability (S4S) \/ Jale por el Agua project, an initiative of The Trust for the Americas, implemented by J\u00f3venes Constructores de la Comunidad AC with support from the North American Development Bank (NADBank), Microsoft, Water House Group, and other private-sector entities, has launched its call for applications for the third training cohort for water operators in Ciudad Ju\u00e1rez.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project seeks to empower men and women, equipping them with skills to thrive in the water management industry, which is essential for sustainable development, especially in water-scarce regions. According to the United Nations, by 2025, half of the world's population will live in water-stressed areas. Therefore, professionals with experience in the water sector are fundamental to ensuring access to clean water and managing wastewater efficiently, directly influencing public health and environmental sustainability.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Binational collaboration in water management is crucial due to the interdependence of water resources; the S4S-Jale por el Agua project is framed within this complex context, offering young people the opportunity to be part of the solution. Among its objectives are:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide digital, life, and technical skills training to men and women in Ciudad Ju\u00e1rez, specifically for positions in the water and wastewater sector.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitate the hiring of project participants in water sector companies, promoting formal employment and improving the service of public and private water and wastewater sector companies.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foster community cooperation and strengthen environmental awareness in the region.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To expand its impact, the S4S-Jale por el Agua project has opened its call for applications for the 3rd generation of participants.
