In this context, the <a href=\"\/en\/\"https:><strong>Code Caribbean Project<\/strong><\/a> is committed to Belize\u2019s educational landscape, aiming to progress toward quality technological education from the earliest stages of life.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This innovative pilot program proposes to revolutionize technological education in primary and secondary schools in Belize. The Code Caribbean Project is much more than merely incorporating digital tools in classrooms. It\u2019s a comprehensive initiative that aims to empower educators by equipping them with computer science and informatics knowledge, socio-emotional and entrepreneurial skills. Training is facilitated by <a href=\"\/en\/\"https:>Code.org<\/a>, an education innovation nonprofit dedicated to the vision that every student in every school can learn computer science. The purpose? To foster interest and passion for technology in students aged 8 to 13, a crucial age for cultivating the seeds of STEAM learning in an increasingly digitized world.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The execution of this project is the result of an exceptional collaborative effort. The initiative is backed by <a href=\"\/en\/\"https:>The Trust for the Americas<\/a>\u2019 <a href=\"\/en\/\"https:>Democratizing Innovation in the Program (DIA)<\/a>, with Code.org as an implementing partner, the <a href=\"\/en\/\"https:>Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Technology (MoECST)<\/a> como socio local, y el apoyo continuo de <a href=\"\/en\/\"https:>Inter-American Development Bank<\/a> \u2013 Japan Fund and the <a href=\"\/en\/\"https:>Porticus Foundation<\/a> as committed donors to educational transformation.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a recent activity that took place on August 15th, we conducted two highly valuable workshops, marking a milestone in the implementation of this project:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Introduction to Computer Science:<\/strong>Designed for teachers with no prior experience in teaching Computer Science, this workshop prepares educators to successfully implement the Computer Science Fundamentals course, part of the Code.org curriculum. In addition to acquiring new teaching strategies, teachers can collaborate and exchange ideas with colleagues, become familiar with the curriculum, and develop the confidence needed to guide students on their learning journey.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Computer Science Deep Dive:<\/strong>Intended for educators seeking a deep understanding of Code.org\u2019s teaching approach, this practical 7-hour workshop provides concrete strategies for implementing the curriculum comprehensively. Teachers work closely with experienced facilitators to overcome challenges and better understand computer science education.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The enthusiastic response from the educational community was remarkable. Over 100 teachers immersed themselves in the workshops. This number reflects the eagerness for technology and computer science training and educators\u2019 determination to equip their students with the necessary skills to thrive in the digital age.
