Recognized by the UN as an international model, Crian\u00e7a Esperan\u00e7a is one of the country\u2019s most high-profile and widely recognized social programs, as well as a powerful communication tool for discussing important issues on Brazil\u2019s social agenda.\u00a0 Through its annual fundraising campaign, it raises funds that are invested in social projects developed by civil society organizations across Brazil\u2019s five regions. With the participation of citizens and major companies, the program has supported more than 5,000 projects, benefiting more than 4 million vulnerable children and young people across the country.\u00a0 All funds raised are deposited directly into an account held by UNESCO\u2014the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization\u2014which is responsible for selecting projects through a public call for proposals, as well as for monitoring and providing technical and financial oversight of the supported organizations.\u00a0\u00a0 In 2021, Crian\u00e7a Esperan\u00e7a celebrated education as an agent of social transformation, at a time when the pandemic had exacerbated school dropout rates.\u00a0\u00a0 The Acordes da Vida project has been part of Crian\u00e7a Esperan\u00e7a since 2018 and offers after-school music workshops, such as guitar, keyboard, violin, flute, choir, and percussion, as well as recreational activities, recycling workshops, and educational and psychosocial support. Aimed at children and adolescents ages 4 to 18, its 2021 goal was to directly serve 70 children and adolescents and indirectly serve 280 people.\u00a0 Obras Sociais Jer\u00f4nimo Candinho is a social organization dedicated to promoting inclusion and improving the quality of life for children and youth facing vulnerability and social exclusion. In addition to implementing the POETA DigiSpark 2021 program, it also promotes regular schooling through the Allan Kardec School, offering free education from preschool through second grade, with the goal of restoring human values and self-esteem among children, youth, and adolescents by offering unique activities that help break the cycle of abandonment, abuse, neglect, and other risks.
