The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has raised crucial questions about how to use these tools responsibly and ethically. In this context, The Trust for the Americas, in collaboration with Tec de Monterrey\u2019s Puebla campus, led an initiative aimed at raising awareness and developing critical thinking skills regarding AI: the \u00abRoadmap for the Responsible and Ethical Use of AI.\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative brought together 21 students majoring in International Relations, Economics, and Law, who worked under the guidance of Dr. Barth\u00e9lemy Michalon and with the support of The Trust for the Americas. Throughout the semester, the students designed a learning path consisting of six modules that address key topics related to AI:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Ethical introduction<\/strong>Initial reflection on ethical dilemmas related to AI.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Biases in AI<\/strong>Analysis of how data and algorithms can perpetuate inequalities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. AI Risks<\/strong>Identification of risks at the personal, social, and global levels.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Detection tools<\/strong>Methods to identify AI-generated images and videos.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Practical impact<\/strong>Real-world use cases of AI in different contexts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Ethical closure<\/strong>A reflective module on the impact of individual decisions in the use of these technologies.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    November 28 marked a milestone for this collaboration with the final presentation of the \u00abRoadmap for a responsible and ethical use of AI.\u00bb During the event, students shared their learnings and perspectives on the impact of AI on society.
